Backend Software Developer Intern – Care Platform

You will join our experienced Care Platform Team. The Care Platform team builds core services and tools to improve Back Market’s customer and seller support systems. The team focuses on developing APIs, backend services, and integrations that streamline interactions between customers, agents, and sellers across all business units.

The expected profiles for this role are backend engineers with skills in coding (ideally Python) and are familiar with using a Linux system and the command line.

YOUR MISSION (IF YOU ACCEPT IT): 🥇

• Collaborate with experienced engineers on feature development and system enhancements.
• Support the team’s technical rework efforts, helping refine and optimize our codebase.

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE IF: ⭐

• You are an end-of-studies master’s degree student studying computer science/engineering, priority to backend engineering and priority to students already based in Berlin, Germany.
• You have knowledge of basic coding languages and ideally Python and have basic programming experience (github, personal or student projects).
• You have knowledge of databases and operating systems, Linux is a plus.
• You have the ability to learn new software and technologies quickly, being curious about the coding environment you’ll evolve in.
• You are detail-oriented and have the desire and ability to work in a team in an international environment.
• You are fluent in English.
• You are looking for a 6 month, full-time role (40h/week), internship (March 2025 – September 2025) based in Berlin, Germany.
• Your school can provide an internship agreement & you are authorized to work in Germany (EU Nationality or in possession of valid student visa/work permit).

RECRUITMENT PROCESS: 📅

• Video-call Interview with the Campus Tech Manager (30min)
• Video-call Technical fit interview : Live coding + open talk (60min) with the tutor
• Video-call Team fit interview with 2 engineers and members of the team (30min)
