    Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking a fixed-term, 18-month Associate, to provide administrative assistance to the Women’s Rights Division. The Women’s Rights Division focuses on issues related to the right to live free from violence; economic rights; and the right to health, with a strong focus on reproductive justice. This position will report to the Deputy Director of the Women’s Rights Division and will provide administrative support to other Women’s Rights Division staff globally. This full-time position may be based in any the following HRW Offices: Chicago, New York, Washington DC, Sao Paulo, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Nairobi, Stockholm, and Toronto.

    Responsibilities:
    1. Provide day-to-day administrative support to Women’s Rights Division staff, including scheduling meetings, filing invoices, managing multiple contact databases, and preparing for and taking minutes at meetings;
    2. Edit, format, and/or distribute news releases, briefing papers, op-eds, publications and web content and co-ordinate translations of the different products;
    3. Proofread, format and coordinate the publication process of research reports;
    4. Coordinate with colleagues outside the division to ensure timely and precise production of supporting materials for research and reports, such as videos and other multimedia;
    5. Assist with coding and updating of on-line documents;
    6. Provide event support at news conferences, staff meetings and retreats, and special events;
    7. Coordinate and support advocacy work, including scheduling official meetings, drafting meeting requests, and contributing to digital media campaigns;
    8. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, providing guidance to, and coordinating interns and recruiting division staff;
    9. Record and process departmental finances; and
    10. Carry out other duties as required.
    Qualifications:_
    Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience in law, human rights, public policy, social justice or a related field is required.
    Experience: A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required. We value many different types of previous experience and take a broad view on what experience is relevant, so please include all previous employment, internship, work-study, and volunteer experience in your application.

    Related Skills and Knowledge:

    1. Prior office/administration experience and strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail is
    2. Excellent ability to write and edit in English is required. Candidates with fluency in additional languages are strongly encouraged to
    3. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously is
    4. Strong initiative, and ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of staff dispersed in different countries is
    5. Proficiency in computer packages, including MS Office applications, is required.

    Salary and Benefits: HRW seeks exceptional applicants and offers competitive compensation and employer-paid benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. HRW offers a relocation assistance package and will assist employees in obtaining necessary work authorization, if required; people of all nationalities are encouraged to apply. The salary range for this position if based in the US is 60,001 – 64,328. Salary ranges outside of the US vary based on location.
