Einführung
The Operations Director position at Conservation International in South Africa involves overseeing the operations function, including program enablement, logistics, procurement, facilities management, IT, risk and compliance, team leadership, and grants and contracts. The position follows a hybrid work structure and is a fixed-term assignment.
Aufgaben
- Lead and manage the operations function including logistics, procurement, IT, and facilities
- Ensure smooth program implementation by working closely with Landscape Directors and Program Leads
- Oversee travel logistics, procurement activities, and vendor relationships
- Manage office space planning and asset management
- Collaborate with IT teams to address technical needs and ensure seamless IT access for staff
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, legislation, and regulatory requirements
- Develop and lead a high-performing Operations team
- Lead non-financial components of Grants and Contracts
- Provide support in negotiations with lenders and donors
- Ensure proper management of donor funds and grants
Voraussetzungen
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or relevant field
- 7+ years of management experience in operations, logistics, procurement, IT, and facilities
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills
- Project Management qualification
- Proficiency in English and one or more official South African languages
- Experience in the NPO sector
- Passion for environment and conservation
