Einführung
The Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering at TUD Dresden University of Technology is offering a position as a Research Associate/PhD Student in the Chair of Materials Science and Nanotechnology. The research work focuses on combining quantum mechanical methods with machine learning techniques to investigate and predict the properties of 2D polymers for catalysis and energy storage. The position requires collaboration with synthetic chemists and the development of computational tools.
Aufgaben
- Conduct research in the field of Materials Science and Nanotechnology
- Combine quantum mechanical methods with machine learning techniques for investigating electronic and magnetic properties of 2D polymers
- Develop data-driven design rules for generative AI frameworks
- Collaborate with synthetic chemists for material synthesis validation
- Perform QM calculations and develop python-based tools for data analysis
- Explore structure-property and property-property relationships using ML-based computational workflows
Voraussetzungen
- Master's or Diploma degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, or similar field
- Knowledge and practical experience in quantum mechanical methods and machine learning approaches
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Excellent communication and writing skills in English
- Hands-on experience with Fortran, Python, and PyTorch is desirable
- Previous computational experience in research projects related to organic molecules and materials is a plus
