Einführung
The Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine - Brain and Behaviour (INM-7) is seeking a Software Engineer/Computer Programmer to lead the development of open-source software for browser-based collection of clinical trial information. The position involves implementing a database structure using DataLad, translating research findings into published research and clinical applications, mentoring students and junior researchers, and participating in training and research activities. The ideal candidate should have a background in Software Engineering, Information Technology, or Biomedical Engineering, proficiency in Python and other programming languages, experience with digital data collection and database management, and an interest in scientific issues. Excellent communication skills in English are required for this full-time position with flexible working arrangements and various benefits offered by the institute.
Aufgaben
- Leading the development of an open source software for browser-based collection of clinical trial information (eCRF)
- Implementing a database structure using datalad (datalad.org/)
- Facilitating the translation of research findings into published research and clinical applications
- Mentor students and junior researchers and participate in training and research activities
Voraussetzungen
- M.Sc and/or PhD in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering or other related field
- Proficiency in Python and preferentially in other relevant programming languages (Java, C++)
- Ideally experience with digital data collection and database management (i.e. SQL, Datalad)
- Experience with web UI development
- Interest in scientific issues and willingness to work at the intersection of science and information technology
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English
