The Senior Research Associate (Qualitative) position at the Vera Institute of Justice involves managing multiple large applied research projects at the intersection of research and systems change. The role requires identifying strategic research priorities, conducting qualitative and mixed-methods research, and communicating findings to internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will have experience in criminal justice reform, racial equity, and community-based approaches to public safety and public health.
Aufgaben
- Identify strategic research priorities and develop research project proposals
- Select appropriate analytic strategies and communicate rationale to team leadership
- Conduct and oversee qualitative data collection and analysis
- Interpret quantitative data from surveys and datasets
- Review and interpret existing research and write literature reviews
- Develop project plans and oversee project tasks and deadlines
- Present research proposals and findings to internal and external audiences
- Support and mentor staff and interns in research activities
- Support hiring, recruitment, and management of research associates
- Lead, train, and supervise others on qualitative data collection and analysis
Voraussetzungen
- Master's degree in criminal justice, criminology, political science, public policy, public health, or related field
- 4 years of experience in applied social science, public health, or criminal legal system research
- 4 years of experience with qualitative and mixed-methods research
- 4 years of experience leading design and implementation of research projects
- 4 years of experience in criminal legal system reform, racial equity, and community-based approaches
- 2 years of experience managing research projects
- 2 years of experience with qualitative analysis software applications
- 2 years of experience leading, training, and supervising others on qualitative data collection and analysis

- Compensation range: $108,316 - $110,000
