    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The CLC Finance Manager at the EIT Food South branch will play a pivotal role in ensuring sound financial management practices, effective reporting and accounting functions. This role entails strong collaboration with internal teams, oversight of financial operations, and the establishment of robust reporting processes. The CLC Finance Manager will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, coordinating with external advisors, optimising financial systems, including ERP NetSuite, and acting as the unique accountant for the subsidiary. This position reports directly to the Financial Director of EIT Food IVZW.

    MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Financial Oversight and Reporting:

    • Set up, maintain, and produce timely monthly financial reports for management review.
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial reporting process that provides meaningful insights for the CLC Management and EIT Food IVZW.
    • Collaborate closely with the Financial Director to ensure alignment with the overall financial strategy and objectives of the organisation.
    • Lead the preparation of the annual budget for the EIT Food South branch and actively contribute to goal-setting processes.
    • Act as the main point of contact for finance matters within the subsidiary, liaising with the central finance team at EIT Food IVZW for backup support.
    • Ensure the effective management of multiple grant agreements which may be signed by the subsidiary, and ensure the grants are integrated in the group’s financial planning, monitoring, and reporting processes.

    Financial Operations and Compliance:

    • Maintain a high level of technical accounting knowledge and ensure accounting practices are aligned with the evolving business needs of the EIT Food South branch.
    • Provide proactive tax planning advice in collaboration with external tax advisors to ensure tax compliance and informed decision-making.
    • Oversee compliance with grant conditions of each grant agreement signed with a third party.

    Systems Development and ERP Implementation:

    • Lead improvements in the purchasing process to ensure compliance with procurement procedures.
    • Develop requirements for a new ERP system for transaction processing and reporting.
    • Support the IT project manager in the implementation of the new ERP system and accounting software, enhancing operational efficiency.

    Collaboration:

    • Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to design and implement finance projects aligned with organisational goals while maintaining trust amongst the local team.
    • Lead and manage financial matters independently within the subsidiary while coordinating closely with the central finance team at EIT Food IVZW.

    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent.
    • Solid experience in finance, accounting, and reporting.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems, with specific experience in NetSuite preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial standards.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Be part of a dynamic team and gain valuable on-the-job experience in supporting day-to-day activities within the “knowledge triangle” of EIT Food: Education, Innovation and Business Creation. Tasks will vary from helping with communication tasks first (such as press requests, newsletter or webpage organisation) to support of the EIT Food Acceleration Network, and many more.

    MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Managing Director holds a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of EIT Food CLC Central GmbH in Freising, Germany. This combined role integrates both managerial and financial responsibilities. The primary objective is to lead a German for-profit company with diverse public and private funding income streams in accordance with German laws and regulations and EU funding rules. As the disciplinary leader for all GmbH employees, this role involves financial planning, spending, reporting, accounting, HR, and administrative duties, as well as ensuring full compliance with all obligations, agreements, and regulations. The Managing Director also plays a key role in coordinating with other EIT Food functions, including Finance and HR, and collaborating with the central teams at EIT Food headquarters in Belgium (EIT Food iVZW).

    The Managing Director will report to the Finance Director of EIT Food.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Managing EIT Food CLC Central GmbH:

    • Oversee the regional office's operations in accordance with German laws, EU funding rules, and EIT Food's objectives.
    • Assume full responsibility for the regional office, including all financial, administrative, and legal matters.
    • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with financial regulations.

    2. Financial Oversight and Reporting:

    • Implement and manage a robust financial reporting system, including monthly financial reports for internal stakeholders and EIT Food.
    • Manage the different funding streams of the GmbH, ensuring sound financial planning, spending, and reporting of budgets.
    • Ensure compliance with German GAAP in financial practices.
    • Take responsibility for annual financial audits.
    • Fulfill all obligations related to running and future collaboration agreements.
    • Act as the unique finance POC for the subsidiary, collaborating closely with the central finance team at EIT Food iVZW.

    3. Leadership and Staff Management:

    • Provide financial insights and guidance for decision-making, including budgeting and forecasting.
    • Assume a high level of responsibility for the regional staff, including HR, administrative duties and disciplinary actions, in collaboration with the central HR team at EIT Food iVZW.

    4. Reporting and Coordination:

    • Ensure the efficient management of financial resources, including cash flow optimisation.
    • Monitor financial performance against budget and provide regular updates to management.
    • Prepare regular reports for EIT Food and GmbH bodies.
    • Coordinate closely with other EIT Food functions and Managing Directors from other regional offices.

    5. Finance and Strategy Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the central finance team at EIT Food VZW to align financial processes and reporting.
    • Support the development and implementation of financial strategies and initiatives to achieve financial sustainability.
    • Ensure alignment of the regional office's financial activities with the overall business goals of EIT Food.

    EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, e.g. business administration, finance, or proven work experience.
    • At least 5 years' experience in a similar management role.
    • Experience in running a company according to German laws and regulations.
    • Strong financial knowledge; knowledge in EU funding regulations is a strong plus.
    • Experience in HR topics and related admin and legal topics.
    • Experience in German GAAP.
    • Collaborative approach: Ability to work closely with teams across EIT Food, as well as with external partners.
    • Strong communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with staff, internal stakeholders, and senior management, using a range of channels and formats.
    • Analytical skills: Ability to use data and insights to inform decision-making and track progress against objectives.
    • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications as well as CRM software.
