Einführung
We are looking to recruit a Postdoctoral Researcher - Head of Biomedical Imaging Laboratory (SMART|Lab Biomedical Imaging) in Kutaisi, Georgia. The successful applicant will be employed by the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine – Medical Imaging Physics (INM-4) at Forschungszentrum Jülich as part of the GGSB-PLUS initiative. The lab aims to use machine learning techniques to improve clinical diagnosis and therapy, focusing on topics such as quantitative mapping of water content in the brain, tumor diagnostics, early diagnosis using machine learning, development of therapeutic probes, and training and transfer to the therapy center.
Aufgaben
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Biomedical Imaging Laboratory
- Conduct innovative research in the field of biomedical imaging
- Foster collaborations and promote knowledge transfer
- Expand the existing platform for technology and knowledge transfer
- Mentor students and junior researchers
- Participate in training and research activities
Voraussetzungen
- Master and PhD in Biomedical Imaging, Medical Physics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven expertise in data-driven computational modelling, MRI, PET
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in leading research projects and teams
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Fluency in Georgian and English
- Competence in the German language would be advantageous
- Commitment to fostering international collaborations and knowledge exchange
- Commitment to stay at KIU campus for a certain period
